Gentle Giants

We take our kennel name from our first two mastiffs, Duncan and Kirk. Duncan came into our lives in January 1998 and we have been hooked ever since. Kirk got us addicted to showing in 2000 and we haven't stopped. We've learned a lot about our breed over the years and are happy to share that knowledge. We are strong believers in breeding healthy, well-tempered dogs that meet the breed standard. We breed occasionally. Our family is located on Long Island in New York. Look for us at dog shows in the tri-state area. We are members of Mastiff Club of America and founding members of Empire State Mastiff Fanciers.

Meet the Mastiff.

We firmly believe in educating the public on what it means to live with a Mastiff (or any dog). Bringing one of these giant dogs into your home is a giant commitment and we want you to be prepared for that. On behalf of MCOA, our family runs the Mastiff booth at the yearly AKC Meet the Breeds in NY. We were hoping to take that show on the road in 2020 but COVID had other plans. Fingers crossed we can get back to it in 2021.

AKC video highlighting how breeders are champions for their breeds.
The American Kennel Club released a series of videos called "I am a breeder". We participated in one of the segments. So often we see breeders getting a bad rap. The purpose of these videos is to show all the good that breeders do as stewards of their breeds. We were happy to have the chance to show off our the breed we love so much.
